I personally try not regress to the retro designs, however, the fish design surfboard has some notable advantages, especially in small, weak surf conditions. With a generally straighter rocker, and thicker volume, they catch waves easily, paddle well and accept a variety of templates (wide points forward or back of center), bottom designs, tails and fin set ups. Properly designed, fishes do have an advantage of being able to surf a wide range of surf size and conditions, but can still have the potential of being over powered in overhead surf. Fast and very loose.....
